After many years of industrial and academic experience in the machine tool field, Marc Tresky joined ESEC in 1975 and founded Dr. Tresky AG in 1980.
Initially the objective was to identify and develop a market friendly product, which responded to market needs without any conflict of interest to previous products. The Dr. Tresky AG Company was the result.
The first Dr. Tresky test and handling system, T5201 was exhibited at Semicon 1982 in Zurich, with manufacturing and delivery following this to VDO Schwalbach, HP Oregon, Delco, Lohia and many others.

In 1983 Dr. Tresky responded to the rapidly growing demand for SMT pick and place equipment, and introduced its 1st Manual SMT Component Placer- the T4906. incorporating a number of unique features combined with ergonomic compatibility to enable accurate placement using cycle times of less than 3 sec/component.
At the time the T-4907 was a unique manual placement machine utilizing an automatic vacuum switching system, capable of bare die and packaged devices, presented in either waffle or wafer eject format.
The T-4906 was so successful that many European companies purchased the equipment in multiple numbers up to 10 units at a time. This system was superceded by the T-4907 using a cast frame, and the concept still exists to this day.

During 1992 to 1996 Dr. Tresky saw the expansion from the SMD market into bare die attach, whereon a patented die eject system using a stationary needle saw a market shift towards the bare die assembly, with wafer sizes up to 8 inch diameter capability. The new, larger frame provided space for the integration of several new modules and options that utilized programmable XYZT coordinates.

The high quality, flexibility, and versatility concepts, together with Dr. Tresky technical expertise and competence, together with the readiness to enter into a partnership with the customer to provide solutions to difficult applications by customizing the equipment where necessary, has impacted the decision of customers to choose Dr. Tresky over the competition, for applications including, bar handling, laser diodes, silver glass, and a multitude of opto-electronic areas.
